MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT
Why run courses for managers? Management development is a major component of
organizational development. If you want to help the organization accomplish its objectives and realize its destiny, perhaps the best if not the only way to do so is by harnessing, sharpening and aligning the competencies possessed by your most important asset your management team.
Although courses for supervisors and managers are readily available from local sources it is far more cost-effective to make and/or buy a program that will focus on the specific needs of your people. With the huge costs associated with taking managers away from their work to attend courses it is essential that the training be high impact, relevant and driven by the managers' needs rather than the instructor's wants.
Courses should be designed to meet these two compelling concerns. They include needs analysis tools, behavioral learning exercises, evaluation instruments , techniques to measure transfer of learning from workshop to workplace, and as much or little instructor assistance needed.
