The Volume 3 CD enables you to create job specific, competency based appraisals by selecting from 36 competencies and 216 questions designed to assess performance in those competencies. Additionally there are 216 pages of coaching recommendations to develop behaviors that were assessed as sub-standard.

In an effort to create a comprehensive and best practice package of performance management material in one place, we have created the Janus Performance Management System, an extensive performance management support system for organizations to ensure that individuals and teams are focused and assisted in achieving personal and enterprise wide goals and objectives.

Janus is a fully integrated suite of materials - paper-based or on-line - that will help individuals, teams, and whole organizations set effective performance goals, build competency standards, and conduct an effective appraisal. The system provided a comprehensive, step-by-step approach for both appraisees and appraisers, with training material, coaching guides, forms, and templates, all contained within three volumes. The Janus On-Line Assessment System can aid in managing the whole process, including the competency-based self, 180-degree, or 360-degree performing feedback assessment process.

  • Choose either a paper-based template or the Janus On-Line Assessment System for performing your feedback assessments.

Customizable and Reproducible

  • The Janus paper-based materials include all materials on Microsoft Word TM CDs, for easy customization and printing.
  • Both On-Line and Paper-Based, Janus may be reproduced and used freely at the site they are licensed for.

The Janus Performance Management System is divided into three major parts:

Volume/Part Three
Janus is designed around a core set of thirty-six generic competencies that apply - to some extent - to all job roles.

Managers and individuals select up to ten of these competencies based on their particular job role. This functions as a personalized performance management system. One training module is included.

The Janus online appraisal system enables each employee and their supervisor to create an individualized assessment from the following database.

  • 36 Competencies
  • 216 behavioral questions - six per competency
  • 216 pages of coaching recommendations - six per competency

Navigating Janus Is Easy

Janus is designed to support both individuals in the performance management or appraisal process, as well as supervisors and managers who are expected to make it work effectively and deliver good results.

Although the range of materials is large (in order to be fully comprehensive), Janus has also been designed to be easy to navigate; each module can be used on a "stand-alone" basis.
